Anyone here know anything about the Springfield Armory SAR-4800 FAL clones/copies? A buddy of mine told me of one in really clean shape at a shop within driving distance. He said they are asking $600 for it (I may be able to talk them down a bit). I figure it would go well with my Springfield Armory SAR-8 (HK-91 clone), since both are SA and .308.

Good rifles, just make sure it is in good condition, $600 should be a heck of a deal if there is nothing wrong with it.

Grrrrr.......fortunately, he went back to the shop and called me so I could get more detailed info. It was a false alarm. It was a Century FAL. :( I knew it was too good to be true. I'd seen the Springfield FALs going for $1000-$1600. I guess I'll just keep looking......Oh yeah. He said something to the effect of buying the gun and holding it for me and the shop employee heard him and told him he couldn't sell him the gun, now. I had to explain what a "straw purchase" is (he's from Peru and wasn't aware of the law against that).
