anyone from long island new york know if their is going to be any kinda shooting competitions going on on long island anytime soon, preferably where i could shoot semiauto rifle. thanks guys

This all assumes that you want to participate in an organized NRA Highpower rifle event. I know they shoot at a couple different places on Long Island throughout the year. The matches for the most part are ovr for the season I am sure, but I did talk to a NY shooter at a match recently and he said there is a winter league up there at one of the 200yd ranges.

In the spring Camp Smith up in Peekskill holds a small arms firing school (clinic) for new highpower shooters and that is not too far from the Island and is also a great introduction to the sport of service rifle if you are not yet involved.
