SKS stripper clips

I have a Chinese SKS and for the life of me, I cannot get the stripper clips to load well.
Most times the first few rounds will go into the mag and then it locks up and I am out of luck.
Or they will just not budge at all, no matter how hard I press down.
Anyone had similar problems? Is there a solution?

Press near the base of te cartridges and go easy, alot of pressure will cause binding. Briefly let up when you get to the last 3 or so shells in the clip, then re-apply pressure. Once you get the correct "feel" for it, the clips are very convinient.

Yeah, you have to kind of "pump" the rounds into the mag. It does not really work trying to shove them with one big push.

Is there any lube on the clips???
I lightly oil mine and they seem to work ok, not that I've used them a lot.

Keep your thumb at the rear end of the rounds. Let the thumb ride the clip down. This, plus stopping for the last few rounds, as has been mentioned, works for me.

All SKS stripper clips are not created equal. Out of a batch of 20, I usually get 12-15 that work, and the rest are tight and nearly unusable like yours. I'd recommend buying some more, and weeding out the good from the bad.

While the strippers are empty you can use Break Free and use the metal prep steps on the can which is just soaking them for a few hours. It helps for future use.

This is the process I have to use on my Yugo as well. It's a bit of a pain, but still vastly better than loading them one at a time.
