Extractor Question

Inserted a live round in my NORC 1911/45acp today to check on extraction reliability on my pistol and i've noticed the bottom casing of the round is not in anyway in full-contact with the firing pin breach-end of the firing pin channel (I pulled back the slide and peep inside). Though i have 101% positive extractions in actual firing in previous range occassions i was wondering if the gap is normal. I reckon that the gap is about 1mm.
If not normal, could the extractor be longer than the extractor channel? or the extractor channel is abnormally short for the extractor.
Thanks in advance.

IMHO, this removes the need to worry about it. ;)

You're right...I hit submit before I thought about it completely. It could be working 100% and be getting ready to go out of spec. Sorry bout that. :D
