No, I won't be slugging seagulls with my Benelli even if they deserve it.

Are beaches considered state parks therefore no boomsticks on premises?

Now that is a very good question; Most beaches in northern Kali are ‘state beaches’ (or at least that’s what the signs say) so I would say that they’re treated like any other state park. Though I suppose if you go far enough up the coast you’d find beach front that’s not treated as such…. Mmmmm never really thought about it before.

Yer gonna look a little funny in Speedos, the Camelback and the drop rig for the Beretta though.

Some are and some are not. I think a big stretch, if not all, of Huntington beach is a State Park. Down closer to Newport and Laguna there are some privately owned beaches like Crystal Cove. The Irivne company used to, and probably still does, own the land. As I recall, the Irvine Co. is anti so they probably have their own nasty little rules there.

The northern beaches around San Simeon are probably State Parks also. I'm 99% sure the area around Morro Bay is. I guess you just have to check it beach by beach.

I miss the beaches and the mountains in the PRK most of all. Too bad the politics there are so bad.

If I see beach patrol SUVs does that make it a state park?

I believe the beach I'm going to is part of the city of Newport Beach. If I run into any BGs or overly aggressive gulls I guess I'll have to warm up the Smores sharpsticks

Just keep it concealed in your swim trunks and you'll do fine ... :D

Or you could try gun-friendly Arizona, lot's of nice beaches there. Course, there's no water, but heck, you can't have everything. :neener:

eventually arizona will become beachfront property, i think all god is waiting for is the decent people to move from there so he can smite the state down into the ocean.

One great big festering neon distraction,
I've a suggestion to keep you all occupied.
Learn to swim.
Mom's gonna fix it all soon.
Mom's comin' round to put it back the way it ought to be.
Learn to swim.
...
Cuz I'm praying for rain
And I'm praying for tidal waves
I wanna see the ground give way.
I wanna watch it all go down.
Mom please flush it all away.
I wanna watch it go right in and down.
I wanna watch it go right in.
Watch you flush it all away.

Time to bring it down again.
Don't just call me pessimist.
Try and read between the lines.
I can't imagine why you wouldn't
Welcome any change, my friend.
I wanna see it all come down.
suck it down.
flush it down.

California has been drifting to the left for years, so it stands to reason that it must eventually break away from the mainland. :D

Of course, when it finally happens the "vast right wing conspiracy" will be blamed for doing it in order to change the national demographics and "steal the election"

(you know, like "clinton was a better president because we had better weather when he was in office, etc ...." :barf: )

Skunk, I don't know what you do at the beach, but the only times chix dragged me to the beach, I had other things on my mind besides fowling pieces. Carry a folding knife. Easier to conceal. Cold Steel Vaquero Grande. How about a CRKT Bear Claw set up for neck carry? People on the beach are lightly armored (even more so on the beaches desperately trying to be nude beaches; better get a neck knife for there because concealment is painful I hear tell.) But I discovered there is much better privacy on the San Fernando Valley overlook off Mulholland Drive, so the beach lost its, how shall one say it, charm after that. And there's no sand in the seat of a car...

I checked and the CA state parks website says 'no firearms', but it doesn't say if there's an exception for CCW permit holders like many places do.
