Anyone familiar with this rifle? It's a 14.5" barrel (yes -- registration and tax stamp required) AR that looks to me like a semi-auto version of the M4. If I wanted to get as close to a real M4 as is possible without being an SOT FFL, would this be it? Besides lacking "da switch", where does it differ from an M4?

Add an M-16 selector switch so you can get more Poser-Points by harmlessly moving it into "auto" mode. <Bwaaaaahaahaaahaahaaaa>

you can get this with a 16 or 18 inch bbl, a friend of mine , who is a dealer, got one about 1month ago. They retail for about 11to 1200 bucks.

Nope - the Colt 6921 only comes with a 14.5 inch barrel. The 6920 has a 16" barrel. Colt does not make an AR with an 18 inch barrel.

I'd try Knesek Guns (http://www.knesekguns.com/price.php#COLT) or Clyde Armory (https://www.policeguns.com/catalog/). But I'd call first to make sure they're in stock.

I bought my LE6920 from Clyde. Very nice folks and good service.

a tangent question, please...

The 6920 has a 16" barrel.

is there any chance this is a lightweight/pencil barrel?

no, they are not pencil bbls, they are govt. style. Also, I didn't know whether his was 16 or 18 inches, but his is 16 inches, also it was semi only , not select fire. so it must a been a 6920.

My Colt 6921 is marked, "M4 LE". So, it is a M4 variant. Semi-auto only.

The Colt LE 6921 is pretty much the exact same thing as the US Military M4, with the exception that the M4 is select fire and the LE 6921 is semiauto only. That's why I want one -- it's the closest thing you can get to an M4.

My sources are telling me that there are none to be had right now. Every distributor is out of them.

US Auto Weapons in Scottsdale had one last week on the shelf if I recall. But you will pay for it. They want more than list on most things they sell. They had a 6920 for over $2k. :what: Scottsdale Gun Club is right next door and wants $1500...which is still considered high...which btw you might want to contact as they deal in Title II stuff.

There are certainly dealers and private sellers who have them. The distributors are all out right now, however, which means if I want one now I have to pay retail. I'll wait and buy one wholesale when the distirbutors have them again.
