Sitting there waiting for the 4473 to clear (I swear this is a plot by the retailers. ) and the guy says "well, what else do you need while we are waiting?"
hmmm, got an 22LR revolvers?
walk over to that counter, guys says a couple S&W 17's and i think there's a diamondback in back there.
Dig it out I say, dig it out now
it's a 4 inch, blued and it's pretty, but the grips aren't right, hmmmm, walk up to the owner, talk a little price (I'm buying 2 others at the time, I think i get the multi-gun discount), and finally decide, no, i'll let it go.
so, he then reaches down and says what about this one? (must have been behind teh counter, wasn't with the rest)
Diamondback 6 inch blued, 22LR, beautiful, not quite perfect, but close. Much better trigger than the other one and he even has teh box and papers.
Sold
Crap.
stupid wait on the 4473.
oh well, always wanted one, I'm psyched.
I come out to the car, the wife is like "why do you have 4 boxes instead of the 3 I left you with 30 minutes ago?"
ummmmmmmmmmm;)
Pic added, doesn't really do it justice, it really shines in the light, the finish is amazing. They just don't do blue like that anymore

A Diamondback in a 6" .22 is indeed a find any more! :) Roughly the price of a Python in my area .......:uhoh: .

Actually it was more than the Python she "bought" me for christmas. I know she bought it, she just won't let me shoot it til Christmas.:neener:
But the Diamondback is pretty.
I"m psyched, been looking for one for a long time, best part is it's been shot before so i don't have to worry about keeping it NIB.
I'll make the wife take a picture tomorrow and post it. I don't get into all that technology stuff. :p

Hello, BozemanMT!
I picked up the 2.5-inch stainless Python you recommended at the Gun Room in Denver last week. Turns out it's bright-polished stainless, not the ordinary kind. Turns out it's in near-mint condition.
While I was waiting for my government permission, I looked long and hard at a Colt Police Positive target revolver. If it had been in slightly better condition and equipped with something better than cheap plastic fake stag grips, I'd have... Well, I'd have...
Whew!

ok, pics added up top
and it's going to be nice today and the endless meetings at work end at 3pm, a quick hour at the 22 range today.
i'll report back with a range report.

You will like your Diamond back. I've had one for several years...(15?)...I love it. Shoots good and always brings some comments at the range.

Range Report
Oh yes, very nice. Took a while to get the sights in (I always go the wrong way first).
Then the wife takes it, shoots it once (first time ever on a revolver) and says "i don't like it"
Now honey, this is a revolver, takes time to shoot a revolver well, long trigger pull, etc
So, she goes back to work with it.
within 1/2 an hour she's popping the 4 inch steel circles at 15 yards. all 6.
She turns to me and says "ok, I like it":D
me too
very sweet shooting.

Thank God for the "One Handgun a Month" rule in Maryland.
It sure helps me pay the mortgage every month

You never mentioned price. But regardless of the price, congratulations on the acquisition. They are nice little guns and the value has done nothing but go up in the last few years especially. Now you need to get a couple more!

My first "real" handgun was a .22 Diamondback with the rather uncommon 2 1/2" barrel.
It was traded off long ago. :banghead:

Probalby a little spendy, but it was there and i had money.
$895
but it's close to 99%
and it's a shooter
I've got a NIB 6" Diamondback .38spl that has never been fired.
I've got (supposadley:rolleyes: ) a 98% 6" Python coming for Christmas from the wife.
and 2 King Cobra's. (4" and 6")
yeah, I like snakes
and now the wife likes them too

Thank you! I didn't need it, but it was calling to me... And I really need to pay some bills first.

I think we all have the same stories.
I went into a local shop to pick up a 1911 I had ordered. Lo and behold...i saw the prettiest 5" M&P that I had ever seen. (I have always had a soft spot for K Frame Smiths)
It was pre-war, in 98% or better condition. It had a set of old style flat bottom Magna grips, and the half-moon sight.
It came home with me....

I've had bills for years. I've never had a stainless Python snub-nosed revolver. The bills can wait.
