Do they make these? I have used them on my rifle for years but wondered if there was anything similar for pistol. The rear patridge sight is becoming very indistinct as my eyes age. I tried an adjustable aperture on my shooting glasses but didn't really like it.

I saw a ghost ring sight on a revolver at a gun show awhile ago. It didn't do anything for my middle-aged eyes, but did look interesting.
I've gone to red dots on virtually all my target guns.

There's the OneRaggedHole sight system for handguns... they list 'em for Rugers. Looks interesting to me.

The www.oneraggedhole.com looks like what I want -- except I would want it on a S&W M-29. I don't really want the added bulk of a red dot. Maybe I can get one of my machinist friends to see if they can make me a prototype.
