Any suggestions on a reasonable holster for a S&W Model 29 6.5"?

I don't need something fancy--a simple belt holster is all I require, more to have it on hand than anything else. But I don't want to buy junk. No scope. No shoulder holsters, please--belt or paddle only. $100 or less, preferably much less, but as I say, I don't want to buy a piece of junk that won't protect the gun or be secure.

This will not be used for competition or concealed carry, so the main consideration is to protect the gun and keep it secure.

Grandpa gave me a beautiful blued Model 29 at Thanksgiving this year, and I'm just gathering up the fun stuff. I have dies and brass on the way. He picked it up from a guy who bought it because of "Dirty Harry," and it's exactly the same model as Inspector Callahan's. Guy claimed he never fired it, and Grandpa never has, either. I don't know how he and dad can stand to buy firearms and not shoot things with them. It's not going to remain unfired for long!

Check Uncle Mikes

Also might take a look at Cabelas or the Sportsmans Guide

The latter two make copies of excellent designs and sell em at a discount, usually cause they are made over seas and probably NOT as high of quality as the "Name" holsters.

Hey Don,
I have a NEW Leather tan holster for a model 29.
It's a belt holster and I don't have anything to fit it.
You can have it for $20 plus $4.00 shipping if you want.
Let me dig it out and take a picture for you.
I'm pretty sure it's still around here.

I tell ya what Don.
I found it. It's a brown leather belt mount swead lined NEW Hunter holster.
It looks like it would fit a 6.5 inch tube.
Drop me your address. I'll send it to you.
If it works, send me the $24.00. If not, send the holster back.
How's that sound ?
Can't beat that as far as I can tell.

Out of curiosity, can you tell me what the manufacturer of the holster you are refering to is? I'm trying to find one as well (for a bit longer barrel), and I'm not having any luck. If you know the maker, a couple of pics would be great to if you have the time. Thanks!

One of the models above? Actually, that sounds like about what I'm looking for.
The 2200 (thumbnail below) is the only one that mentions a suede lining.

GUNKWAZY, you have a PM.
