OK, so I'm a sucker for .22s. I was at the Charlotte gun show yesterday and an older fellow was selling off some of his collection. One of the guns was a Savage Model 60 Deluxe in pretty decent condition. No rust, a little dirty, wood is good but needs refinished. I gave him $75 for it, down from his $100 asking price.

I've tried here, TFL and Rimfirecentral plus Google, and can't find out much about it. It's not on the C&R list, so I'm making the assumption it isn't over 50 years old, but doesn't have a serial number I can finds, so I'm also assuming it was made before the 68 GCA *spit*.

I'm looking for whatever information I can find, such as dates of manufacture and a manual if I could find one. Pointers, anyone?

"Model 60 - A .22 caliber semiautomatic rifle with a 20" barrel, open sights, and tubular magazine. Blued with a Monte Carlo-style walnut stock. Manufactured between 1969 and 1972." - 1999 Standard Catalog of Firearms

Excellent condition = $100

It's in the 14th Edition of the Gun Trader's Guide, too. 15-shot magazine, 6 pounds, checkered pistol grip and forearm. $75 in 1990. Now that I see the pic of it, I remember seeing these for sale way back when. I always thought they were nice looking rifles.
