Sick anti-war prank calls

How Low Can Anti-War Dregs Go?
"With the news from Baghdad growing more auspicious every hour, the antiwar
sad sacks here turn to mischief, abuse and worse. The mother of a trooper of
the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Ky., got a call from a vicious
prankster who told her that her son, 22, had been captured. This was a lie,
but it took military authorities several hours to dispel the hoax and
relieve hours of agony for the trooper's family.
"A family in Flagstaff, Ariz., was devastated when a caller told them that
'we need to let you know that your son, Wayne, was killed in Iraq two days
ago.' An uncle, whose photograph had appeared on the front page of the local
newspaper, spent 24 hours getting official confirmation that the trooper was
alive and well."

I heard about the case here in Flagstaff. I think it's some of the local "activists" in a little group that calls itself the "Flagstaff Activist Network". They had to go to the trouble of knowing he had a relation in the war, knowing who he is and also get his phone number. So it's not just some isolated crank.

Intentional infliction of emotional distress. It's a tort.

I've called leftists moral and intellectual parasites before, but that's beyond mere parasitism.

These "pranksters" need to be arrested for disorderly conduct. Hopefully law enforcement has been notified by the families. People that do these things make me mad!!:fire:

No, RJ I thinkGAry has the best idea, treat it as a tort. Hate crimes like this are what million dollar settlements are made of. In fact it it could be traced back to any sort of organization maybe even tens of millions. This is the sort of thing that has a precident in the lawsuits which bankrupted the Klan. :D

It is, by definition, an act of terrorism. I'm sure they're mostly bleeding heart liberals. Hope a few of them get caught and made an example of.

There have been at least ten documented calls in Virginia. They identify themselves as Red Cross workers. The Red Cross does not do family notification of soldiers killed, wounded or captured, strictly a military function. It works the other way, if a soldier's family needs to reach them for an emergency and cannot the Red Cross will help.
Despicable. I hope they are traced back and the full force of the law and civil litigation are brought to bear against these oxygen thieves.
How can these wastes of flesh sleep at night?:barf:

Hmmmmm - Uncle mike's prescription for 'pranksters' - how 'bout *69 followed by a molotov cocktail thru their front window, or perhaps a bag of rattlesnakes under the front seat of their car . . . a little return terror - paybacks can be a b*tch. :fire: :fire: :fire: :neener:

How have these 'prankster' idiots not killed themselves out of sheer guilt yet?
I agree with earlier posts, this is the stuff that makes for very large monetary rulings in favor of the victimized. :fire:
