Recomend a good, pro gun home page. Google and Yahoo just don't get it done anymore. Thanks

Teoma (http://www.teoma.com/)

It's a good search engine comparable to Google.

Why have a home page at all?

I've had mine set to "Use Blank" for years now. I don't know why people want a homepage either. Everytime you open up a new explorer window you get your home page again. Huh? I just don't get it.

thanks for the help, I'll try them. Always had a home page, didn't know I could leave it blank. Guess I'm dense.

I leave mine blank also. It's a lot faster.

I don't have a problem with Google regarding searching gun related sites. Sometimes you do have to turn off parental control however.

http://www.google.com/preferences?hl=en

Go down to SafeSearch Filtering and check "Do not filter my search results."

I suppose they might have some rules regarding gun site hit preferences, that is, gun sites wanting to pay to show up at the top of a search result.

However, if I search Google with the search keywords of bushmaster AR15, bingo, this site is first on the search hit list regardless of these controls:

I use the Associated Press breaking news for my home page.

Gives me a quick scan of what's up with the world when I hit the net.

I used to use the blank page to start with, but since THR opened up, it's been my home page.

If you want a good startup homepage: Nascar.com (http://www.nascar.com) :D

If you want a good search engine: Vivisimo (http://vivisimo.com/)

If you can cut and paste and know what a URL is you can build your own home page.

Attached is a sample page homepg.txt. Save this page as c:/homepg.html then you can set your browser to access it as a home page.

All that is needed then is to VIEW the SOURCE from internet Explorer then cut and paste your links as you find them. For more elaborate pages you can learn HTML coding in a couple of hours by visiting the HTML Authoring site. (http://www.buffnet.net/~dswtrek/html.htm)

Ditto the above two... I made my own webpage and on the side, I have links to the hundred or so sites I visit on a regular basis.

Blankety blank blank.

I don't like contributing to website's falsely high hit numbers. But that's just me. :scrutiny: I mean, if google or yahoo or wherever is anti and it's your homepage, then you are giving them leverage with their advertisers. At least that's how I've always seen it.
