| recently bought one of the Belarus-made low profile side scope mounts from Freedom Optics. It slid on my VEPR side rail no problem, but the locking lever only moves so far. There is this tab on the top of the lever itself that hits the mount, preventing the lever form being pushed completely forward. Is this right? The mount feels solid to touch, but I'm afraid to fire it. Any thoughts?

I have the BP02 mount from Tantal. I had to sort of snap it underneath when I bring it around forward. I keep thinking it is going to bend, but it is okay.

Let us know how it performs. On mine, the zero seems to move about a couple inches at 100 yards when I take it off and put it back on.

The lever needs to be all of the way forward. You just bend it down a little so that the tab passes under the mount body. It's OK, the russians just do stuff weird. ;)

If you can't get it to turn, make sure the scope mount is slid forward far enough. There is a cutout in the scope rail (on the rifle) to accommodate the 'cylinder' part of the scope mount's lever...if you're not pushed far enough forward, the lever won't turn.

Instructions! LOL, they don't come with them! I have the BP-02A...and you do just bend it down a bit to pass it under the rail, then it pops back up into the little slot.
