I decided to get out the camera and take a few pictures of my three favorite pistols. I would like to know which one do you like best and input as to why.

Nice guns. I chose the Kimber cause I'm a sucker for any 1911.

I put my vote in for the 520. I currently reload for that caliber and shoot that gun often. In order to get motivated to reload for .45 ACP, I said to myself that the next time the Kimber goes out, it will be shooting reloads. I'm just now getting ready to do that after christmas when my wife gets me the dies, case trimmer and bullets to do so. I have 900 peices of brass waiting for bullets, powder and primers. I just got the Hi-Power yesterday so, it hasen't been to the range yet.

I voted for the HP, IMHO there is NO better looking pistol in the world than a HP and the grips on your gun are outstanding.

The Kimber is nice also, but it just doesnt have the lines of the HP

I simply dont care for the different colored cylinder in the Smith, that nit-pick aside the Smith is a good looking gun

For looks, I'm a sucker for a revolver. Actually, I love revolvers anyway. But, to me, slab sides of an auto vs rounded curves of a revolver, it's a no brainer, revolver wins! That one is very sharp, too!

Very nice looking Hi Power and 1911, too, BTW.

I picked the Kimber as It just had a look that 'spoke' to me :)

Flip,

I saw the pictures on your HP thread, and first thing I thought of was.. dang that Kimber looks nice! :D

So, my vote goes to your custom II. btw, even if you get that Kimber holster worn, I'm a HUGE SUCKER for worn looking custom II's.

Zen Grasshopper's Kimber comes to mind.

All of em' are beautiful thogh Flip. Nice collection :)

You must be kidding.

A nice blued medium frame .357mag revolver, a nice blued 1911 and a nice blued HP, all with great wood grips, and you want me to say which I like best. I guess it would depend upon my mood on a given day.

I love a medium framed revolver, I love a nice 1911, and the HP is the one pistol I don't own that I least understand why I don't yet own one (well, actually I do, it is the cost so I'm picking up less expensive items missing from what I most want first- but it is the one I want the most out of what I'm missing).

I've never shot any of these so based on looks I like the Hi-power.

Nice samples & tough choices between them! Push come to shove, of the options you provided, I'd go wheelgun 1st :D

I plan on putting rounds through all three christmas day. I have a brand new CZ-75B that I'm keeping at the house for my mother in law to give to my father in law for a christmas present. I figured that would be a good day to try out especially the Hi-Power. I though about getting it out and putting on the wood grips I bought for him and posting a pic.

Thanks, Flip.:)

Thanks!

I like to keep them looking good, if I can. I plan on putting many rounds though the three of them in the years to come. My wife bought me .45 acp dies, case trimmer and bullets for the 1911 for christmas and, I hope to be putting my first .45 acp reloads though it in the next couple of weeks. I won't be able to make it to the ramge tomarrow though. I have too many things to do and too many places to be.

I voted for the Kimber. Not just because it's a 1911, but I have a Kimber and it has been nothing but great for me.

FN/HP. I shoot it better than any other handgun I have ever owned.

Of the three listed, I'd go with the HP. I have a couple and they are great pistols. Now if the 1911 was a Colt, I'd have leaned a little more that way. I have a Kimber and I'm not real impressed with it, my Colts on the other hand, have been flawless. I do have a S&W 620, which I like a lot, but I still prefer the automatics over the revolvers.

For the best photo: The revolver - The grips got me!
For the best gun: Don't know, never shot any of them.

I picked the Hi Power cause as much as I love the .45 ACP, I am not much on 1911s--the Hi Power was Browning's Baby. And I think the Hi Power is one of those 9s I might actually have to own. Also not much for wheel guns.

Wow, looks like the 1911 guys finally showed up

The last time I remember seeing this poll, the HP was in front by nearly 2-1

I still vote for the HP by the way!!!!!!!!!!!!

I voted for the Kimber mainly because I'm a sucker for the ol' 1911, the Hi-power would be my second choice, with the S&W coming in third simply because I don't like the cylinder being a different color.

A performance-oriented .357 S&W Magnum is hard to beat!

Have to be the 520 for me.

Dave Markowitz

I voted for the FN HP.

The 520 has MIM parts (ick) and while the Kimber is darn nice, the HP is St. John's ultimate design (refined by M. Saive, of course).

I voted for the Kimber as my favorite, but your revolver is very, very sweet as well.

The FN I did not like very much at all.

Without question it is the 520. Like the contrast of colors. Are those Ahrends grips. Not a Kimber fan at all. Not familiar with the FAL, but that wouldn't make a difference anyway.

All three are beautiful guns, Flip. (Nice photos, too. Good angle.)

But even though I'm a 9 mm guy (K9), and am dreaming of a 1911 now (damn you people, it's YOUR fault), the .357 just took the prize for me.

Of course, I've been looking at them, too, in the form of SW 686 & Ruger's.

Just one of those things.

Are those Ahrends grips.

Actually, those grips came standard from the factory. I know the Ti cylinder is pretty much new to revolvers and not fully accepted but, I to like the contrasting colors. The cylinder is the only lightweight part of the gun with the frame being carbon steel. It has great balance and feels good in the hand. As far as the picture taking is concerned; I was surprised as to how good they take in my living room on my coffee table while using a tripod mounted P.O.S. camera with track lighting. I wish I would have had this Beretta Stampede in a .45 Long-Colt at the time of the original post to see where the voting would have really gone but, I just got it last week. Here's a pic.
