Is Oregon a Class 3 license friendly state? I'm considering Oregon as an escape from the People's Socialist Republik of **********.

Oregon is a class 3 state, Washington is not.

Be aware, getting LEO signoff may be an issue in Multnomah county. Not sure if it is in Washington or Clackamas, though.

They have a BIG full outo shoot at Albany,Oregon in May.a two day event with thousands of rounds being fired by everey kind of weapon imaginable.
May 17 and 18.spectators welcome, there is a fee for entry to watch...about five bucks.you can pay to shoot guns too.:)
Albany is about 1/2 hour south of Salme,or two hours south of portland, right on interstate 5.

If you come to Portland stay out of Multnomah County. You should have no problems in Clackamas or Washington Counties.

Bernie Giusto who heads Multnomah county sheriff has been NFA friendly in the past. He signed when heading the city of Gresham PD. Previous sheriff signed only for those outside city limits and don't know if that policy will continue or if Bernie will break the deadlock and sign county wide. As a sidebar, city of Gresham use to keep a registry of NFA weapons inside city limits. Mysteriously that registry has disappeared and the city has no idea where those class III weapons are at.

I believe that the least of your worries should you decide to come to Oregon is whether the state is NFA friendly. Good jobs are hard to come by in recent years.

we're thinking about, uh, you guys know a really small town called Brownsville? It's like a half-hour north of Eugene. Is that area MG friendly?

I-5 corridor from Los Angeles to Seattle is a socialist stronghold. Best to head east or west once you've reached the elevation you want.

And bring a snorkel. Its been raining here for as long as I can remember. Just came back from a bicycle ride and got pounded by pea size hail. OUCH!

To the west of the valley it's green, forested and wet. To the east of the Cascade mountains, it's dry, hot (in the summer) and cold in the winter..

Like Robert said, the valley (mainly around Eugene, and north to Portland) is major league Democrap territory. Roseburg south to the OR/Cal border is not as bad as it is to the north.

Oregon may be democratic country, but our CHL's are very valuable. Almost no restrictions, plus Oregonians have rejected tax increases on the ballot many times. Republicans essentially control both houses of the Legislature.
