Neither of those. I have my light, and a 3 1/2" fixed blade, and as of early this spring began using a Bridge's Walking Companion. They are a golf club company and make canes in aluminum and titanium shafts. I have some knee problems, so I actually gain ambulatory benefit from it.
I've been on some moderate levels of Prednisone the past couple months, so I don't really need it right now. But, I do still walk with it from time to time.

I'm severely asthmatic, so pepper spray is out of the question.
I ordinarily carry my Glock 26 on my waist, a Monadnock Persuader (mini-baton) and a Photon Microlight on my keychain, a cell phone in my back pocket, and a Benchmade Griptilion knife in my left front pocket.
I consider the pocketknife just a handy tool; although I've had a couple of classes in how to use one for defense, I'm not a knife person really and I don't really think of mine as a weapon. Because I keep using it for inappropriate things, it's usually too dull to really work for defense anyhow.
For that matter, the Persuader ain't a weapon, period. It just lets me find my keys easier. I took the class for that one, too, and have a certificate saying so. I've also worked out with PDR and jujitsu folks to learn to use it. Frankly it still seems more like a toy than a useful device, but I'd rather have it than not. And as I said, it helps me find my keys.

I carry a small can of pepper spray everywhere. I really, really don't wanna shoot somebody. I don't wanna use lethal force if I don't absolutely have to. If some 300 lb ape threatens to kick my butt, I'll squirt him with spray, then I can throw round house kicks on him all day long while he coughs and pukes. :D Or, better yet, just walk away laughing.
I don't have any big compassion for bad guys, I just would like to stay out of grand jury investigations and law offices.;) Having a non-lethal alternative might not be macho, but it's very smart IMHO.

Good God some folks are paranoid. :D I carry my 9, my pepper gas, and usually have a NAA .22 in a front pocket that some times is the only firearm I have on me. I don't like knives. I'm not a ninja. Good way to get your arse cut. I like stand off weapons. The can of spray is easier to carry than a tazer. Like you, my "knife" is a tool, in my case a Leatherman super tool.

I carry a gun—period.
If I were a cop, I'd probably have to contend with assorted levels of response to assorted levels of threat, but I'm not. If faced with death or grave bodily injury, my plan is to defend myself as quickly and forcefully and effectively as possible.

I never leave home without my pepper spray.

I don't spray or a baton, I'm not a cop.
I always carry a knife and a flashlight. The light doubles as an impact weapon for the NPE.
In my backpack I carry a multitool, first-aid kit, and various other useful items.
I have a generic Photon on my keychain. It serves as a backup light and my 2yo goddaughter likes to play with it.:)

Yeah, but only on my duty belt. No way I'm packing that load otherwise!

Pepper Spray and batons take up space which may be useful for extra mags.

I usually have a 2oz can of FOX in my jacket pocket. Failing that, an ASP Palm Defender hides nicely IWB.
Batons are a no-no in this state.

I always have OC handy in addition to my gun.
I have been in a couple of situations (dealing with aggressive street people high on their drug of choice) where the OC came in real handy when the gun would have been a big over-reaction.
