147 grn penetration

I have been looking around and have noticed that 147 grn FMJ generally penetrates more than 115 or 124 grn rounds. Is this the same with JHP?

depends a lot on the round, but as general rule, yes. Hence the popularity of 147gr jhp as a carry round.
