Anyone ever REALLY use one of these? Need some do'es and dont's and any pet loads would be great. Have had one sitting around here for the better part of 2 years and it's time it got the dust blowed out of the bore. A remy 7400 is real familiar to me, but the price was decent on this one and it's novelty status sold me on it. I decided I'm either gona reload and shoot it- or trade it off for something. Nah- I'm gonna shoot it. but do need some opinions on the thing.

As has been recounted a few times in the forums, watch out for the status of the firing pin on the 100s. There was an ancient recall involving same by Winchester. I killed (harvested) my first deer with a 100 (albeit, in .308 cal.) and, though I traded it years ago, I always liked them (though not the carbines nor the ugly impressed, basket-weaved abominations) and wouldn't kick another one out of bed for eating soft-points.
As to reloading, the only thing I recall is that it was real important to keep the overall cartridge length as close to factory as possible.
The trigger was mediocre but decent groups were obtainable, even with factory rounds.
I always liked the 100 better than Remington's 742/7400 or even Browning's BAR in terms of handling and appearance.
