Take Note Dear Civilians

April 6, 2003, 03:50 PM
I just recieved this from a friend and thought it was great!

Take Note Dear Civilians,
We know that the current state of affairs in our great nation have many civilians up in arms and excited to join the military. For those of you who can't join, you can still lend a hand. Here are a few of the areas we would like your assistance:
1) The next time you see an adult talking (or wearing a hat) during the playing of the National Anthem ... kick their ***.
2) When you witness firsthand someone burning the American Flag in protest... kick their ***.
3) Regardless of the rank they held while they served, pay the highest amount of respect to all veterans. If you see anyone doing otherwise, quietly pull them aside and explain how these Veterans fought for the very freedom they bask in every second. Enlighten them on the many sacrifices these Veterans made to make this Nation great. Then hold them down while a Disabled Veteran kicks their ***.
4) (GUYS) If you were never in the military, DO NOT pretend that you were. Wearing battle dress uniforms (BDU's), telling others that you used to be "Special Forces," and collecting GI Joe memorabilia, might have been okay if you were still seven. Now, it will only make you look stupid and get your *** kicked.
5) Next time you come across an Air Force member, do not ask them, "Do you fly a jet?" Not everyone in the Air Force is a pilot. Such ignorance deserves an *** kicking (children are exempt).
6) If you witness someone calling the U.S. Coast Guard nonmilitary, inform them of their mistake...and kick their ***.
7) Roseanne Barr's singing of the National Anthem is not a blooper...it was a disgrace and disrespectful. Laugh, and sooner or later your *** will be kicked.
8) Next time Old Glory (U.S. flag) prances by during a parade, get on your damn feet and pay homage to her by placing your hand over your heart. Quietly thank the military member or veteran lucky enough to be carrying her...of course, failure to do either of those could earn you a severe *** kicking.
9) What Jane Fonda did during the Vietnam War makes her the enemy. The proper word to describe her is "traitor." Just mention her nomination for "Woman of the Year" and get your *** kicked.
10) Don't try to discuss politics with a military member or a veteran.
We are Americans and we all bleed the same regardless of our party affiliation. Our Chain of Command, is to include our commander in Chief.
The President (for those who didn't know) is our CIC regardless of political party. We have no inside track on what happens inside those big important buildings where all those representatives" meet. All we know is that when those civilian representatives screw up the situation, they call upon the military to go straighten it out. The military member might direct you to Oliver North. (I can see him kicking your *** already.)
11) "Your mama wears combat boots" never made sense to me ... stop saying it! If she did, she would most likely be a vet and therefore, could kick your ***!
12) Bin Laden and the Taliban are not communists, so stop saying "Let's go kill those Commie's!!!" And stop asking us where he is!!!! Crystal balls are not standard issue in the military. That reminds me ... if you see anyone calling those damn psychic phone numbers; let me know, so I can go kick their ***.
13) Flyboy (Air Force), Jar Head (Marines), Grunt (Army), Squid (Navy)
etc, are terms of endearment we use describing each other. Unless you are a service member or vet, you have not earned the right to use them.
That could get your *** kicked.
14) Last but not least, whether or not you become a member of the military, support our troops and their families. Every Thanksgiving and religious holiday that you enjoy with family and friends, please remember that there are literally thousands of sailors and troops far from home wishing they could be with their families. Thank God for our military and the sacrifices they make every day. Without them, our country would get its *** kicked.
- "It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press. - It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech. - It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate. - It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag.
(Authored by
Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, Sergeant, USMC (Please pass this on so I won't have to kick your ***!)

If you don't follow the above rules, I will kick your @@@ and if I can't, then I'll just shoot you:D

Actually, sounds like all he is asking is that you show respect to the nation and those that put their butts on the line to protect that nation.

April 6, 2003, 07:17 PM
So, should people who haven't served in the military be barred from purchasing M16s, Garands, 1911's and Berrettas? After all, this guy wouldn't allow them to buy BDUs, right?

April 6, 2003, 07:37 PM
Yohan, talk like that can get your *** kicked!:D

Did I mss something? Are the pro-war and anti-war movements having some kind of contest to see who can be the biggest twits?

OK, respect where respect is due, pretty funny, and I can pretty much get behind the spirit of it all, but I DO have a problem with some twinkie pecksniff trying to tell me my business.

I'm a fairly tall slab, and in order to kick my @$$, someone will have to kick high, at which point I will grab their up leg, snatch they @$$ offa the ground, grab their other leg and make a wish. Then they're going to wish they had left me alone. After I'm done hurting them (sorry, defending my self), I will press charges and start civil proceedings. Any questions?

I don't need anyone's help [.gov included] with my morals, ethics, politics, religion, belief system, lawn care, or anything else. Be so warned. (sorry, bad day in Falls Church-)

Somewhat amusing, but mostly stupid. Rather like me.

This group is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too serious. :neener:

This group is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too serious

Ya think?
Seems like some toes got stepped on. Sorry 'bout that.
Guess I'll have to triple read any posts I want to make :scrutiny: to be sure it's PC and no one gets their shorts in a knot.

I just wish I could have the last 5 minutes of my life back.

From beginning to end, this thread is just miserable to read through, and I don't think I have made it any better.

Does anyone else feel my pain?

April 6, 2003, 10:21 PM
I love what you posted, but some others are wayyyyyyyyy too serious.
Don't worry about being PC, I rarely worry about it.
Too many morons to appease all at once yanno. ;)

PC? Oh, please, please, please...

Let me spell it out here. The problem is not that this board is particularly PC. The problem is:

1.) The joke was boorish and in poor taste.
2.) The joke wasn't funny.
3.) Most people don't take kindly to some twit exhorting others to go out and kick their *****. For example, were someone to come up to me in person and threaten to kick my ***, you probably wouldn't like the response you'd get.

Repeat - Political Correctness is not something you will find much of on this board. Sort through a few archive posts, and you will find a wide variety of political and social commentary, ranging from hard-left Rachel Carson types thru run-of-the-mill centrists out to full-blown market anarchists. I, for one, enjoy argument and debate and worry little about being offended. But I try to excercise some small measure of intelligence, discretion, and good taste.

Just something to think on.

4. Some people have a limited sense of humor and take a joke as a personal attack and respond with "tough guy" rhetoric. :D

April 6, 2003, 10:42 PM
"And don't you go bad mouthing the US army again!":D :neener:

April 6, 2003, 10:45 PM
I'm so offended Yohan, so very offended.
I'm gonna kick my own arse. :neener:

I like that pic. :D

What surprises me is that a moderator hasn't stopped by to close this off topic thread and kick the *** of everybody who's posted to it. :neener:

Some thin skinned non Vet low level patriot types here, Huh!
Go ahead and step on the toes. I agree with the idea, but at least a quiet comment first, then kick their butts.

I will do whatever I damn well please

The taste of freedom is never so great as for those who have served to protect it.

4. Some people have a limited sense of humor and take a joke as a personal attack and respond with "tough guy" rhetoric

Ain't that the truth ... Maybe the Mod should shut the topic down.

As requested.

Folks, the language filters are there for a reason. You're not supposed to be finding cutesy ways around them, or tripping them every sentence or two. Art's Grammaw is reading, remember?

Apart from that, some of you weren't playing nicely. You know who you are. :scrutiny:
