Price for a Luger

I may have a chance to get a Lugar for a little under $700. Have not seen it yet, but has two dates 1916 and 1920 on it.
Is this a good price on a lugar or overpriced?

1. It's a Luger, not a "Lugar". I don't mean to be a spelling nazi *no pun intended* but c'mon...:scrutiny:
2. It depends on the condition of the gun (IE: barrel, grips, markings, etc). If it's in excellent shape, that's a pretty decent price. If it's falling to pieces or needs a major service, then you can find one alot cheaper. Check out www.gunbroker.com and do a search for "Luger 1920" or something along those lines. You'll see some relative prices for what Luger's are going for these days.

There are a lot of different models and variation of Luger. Some are worth a lot more than others. Look for advertisements for "double dated" Lugers, which is what you are talking about.
Condition and matching serial numbers are very important to value.
In general, $700 is not a bad price for a sound functional Luger.
