And I'd probably be setting up on an outdoor range in a heatwave like that.

If you guys want to experience a REAL winter, come on up to MinneSNOWta.

Why, it was a balmy -5F yesterday morning! :D

(On the bright side, the days start getting longer from today. Summer's just round the corner...)

Would LUV to visit the very frigid North (and Northwest); but I'm afraid I
wouldn't come back to either the Marvel City, or the Majic City for that
matter~! I would just send for my bunk and junk.:D

Ahhh. There's nothing like NYC in winter during a transit strike when you arrive in Penn Station at West 32nd Street and have to walk to work on East 61st Street.:D

Depends - either a long one or a short one. Which solstice? :)

This thread, and the two and a half feet of snow in my yard, tempts me to quote the poet Ezra Pound on winter.
But Art's Grandma wouldn't like it.

Pound may have been a traitor and madman, as well as a poet, but he was on target about winter, IMO.

It has snowed here in central Oklahoma every day for the past 3 days. Now - on the very 1st day of WINTER - we have blue skies and an expected high of 52*.

Just goes to prove the old saying about the weather in OK which is Don't like the weather - wait a few hours - it'll change. :D

A lovely 24 degrees here in Columbus Ohio, with a low of 17 tonight.
Perfect day to sit in the house and hide from the cold :cuss:

I dunno how cold it is, but I know we probably haven't seen above freezing for the past month.

Throw in a couple feet of snow, and we are in weather I like :)

Just gotta make sure the M1 and SKS get degreased before I go out shooting, seems the grease don't work well at 0F.

When it hits 40 degrees, I'm going to be outside jumping for joy! Yesterday it was -15 degrees with the wind chill when I walked into work from my car....I hate this weather!!!

Last thursday in Gunnison, CO at 1300 local the true temperature was -24F. :what: And that was on a sunny day.

My wife and I were in the area for four days and the highest temperature we saw was +23F. What happened to global warming?

If you repost this thread in July I'll have to attach a picture of me hanging out at Peanut Island with a BBQ grill attached to the front of my kayak a huge cooler in the rear tankwell, using my loaner kayak as a coal tender/extra storage to keep this firarms related I'd have to stick an 870 mariner although I did ask the coasties once if I could have one of their pintel mounted SAW's to mount on my kayak

Pappy John

Be extra careful with that grill on board your kayak.

Everyone knows that you can't have your kayak and heat it too.:scrutiny:

Yeah I put a cutting board under it and then I cover the board with a wet kitchen towel. I did that almost every weekend this past summer. Needless to say it was the best summer I've ever had.
