Suggestions for starting a club.

I was at the range yesterday with some of my teammates playing with a newly acquired Kimber CDP. The five of us had a blast doing IDPA drills and other such stuff. Much more fun than the usual ISSF shooting we do all year long.

Afterwards, we got to thinking. Why not start a practical shooting club here at Ohio State?

So we're in the midst of tossing the idea around and I'm looking for suggestions. We have more or less unlimited access to the range here on campus. We have a couple ranges about 45 minutes away in Zanesville that do IDPA/IPSC/USPSA type stuff as well as one in Circleville that does IPSC/Action pistol. There is also a club that holds IDPA matches in Marietta. So we have plenty of places to go for matches, and a place to train.

Do any of you have any basic suggestions for us?

Check with Student Services, or whatever department it is that oversees student clubs on campus. They should have an info packet with the rules & regs for starting and maintaining a club on campus.
