Can you shoot a bow to land 1,336 yards away from you? How about a crossbow bolt to 2,047 yards?

that looked really cool until i started reading it :D
Assistants. Unlike in other forms of archery, Flight archers are allowed to have an assistant. Normally the assistant helps the archer by telling him when he is at the correct angle. Most commonly this is done using a 45 trisquare which is lined up with the arrow and the horizon. More sophisticated ones may have a plumb bob in case there is no convenient flat horizon. I prefer to use my own judgement rather than someone else's and fit my bows with spirit levels.
at this point it is starting to remind me more of golf than archery :(

Research Howard Hill, he competed with foot bows at yardages approaching 500. Also he pulled and shot a 175 # hand held bow in flight competition. He regualarly shot "Grandma" a 95 # bow in stage demo's around the world. His finally was shooting hand thrown coins, a dime being last, using above 95#er. Bob Swinehart ( 1st Africa's big Five w/bow) was his manager and tossed the coins, Hill wiped a missed thrown dime from his palm at a show in WVa, last time he threw the coins. All movie shooting in thirties and forties was done by Hill and for real, including splitting the arrow in Flynn "Robin Hood".
