Here are my 4" K-frames:

From the left: model 19-1 nickel, model 66-1, model 65-8

What I really need help on is my photography technique. There is a lot of glare on my photos, I had a terrible background, and my new digi cam was on "auto" setting. Where is a good site with some digital camera advice?

Thanks in advance!

Wheelgunner, that's a nice collection of K-Frames.

There is a wealth of information right here on THR regarding gun photography. If you're serious about doing some gun photography, do a search on "light box" and you'll find plans for a very simple PVC framed, bed-sheet covered box that will make your portrait style gun photos much more warmly lit, with much less glare.

Just taking a quick glance at your photo, it looks like you were using a flash setting that bouced off the shiny table top as well as the stainless guns. Stainless steel guns are difficult to shoot with a flash without getting all kinds of crazy glare and other effects.

If you don't feel like building the light box (took me about 10 minutes), you can always light the guns with table lamps, displayed on a non-reflective surface. Not sure what you're shooting for a camera, but with appropriate lighting from other sources, you could switch to "outdoor" mode, and thus disable your flash. As long as the lighting you use is strong enough, the pictures will be fine without flash, though some white-balance adjusting might have to be done after the fact.

Feel free to PM if you would like further advice. There are a lot of good photographers on this board and I'm sure you'll have a wealth of advice very soon.

Here's a thread of revolver photos I instigated a while back.
