My business partner gave me a gift certificate to a local gun shop that is around the corner from our offices. I went there today because I had looked at a Colt Trooper Mk III last week and was considering buying it with my new found wealth. As I gazed into the case one of the owners says that he just took a S&W Model 19 in trade and am I interested. He pulls out an old original Smith box and hands me a 19-3 with a 6" barrel that looks brand new. Not a scratch or mark on it and a gorgeous finish with original grips. In the box is the little screwdriver, a cleaning rod, brush and swab still in a plastic bag and a warranty card that has a date of April 15, 1955 on the bottom. I know the gun is not that old. So far I believe it was made between 1967 -1977. The serial number is 2K85201. Regardless this beauty is absolutely breathtaking. I asks how much and he goes $300. Sold says I! I am now the proud owner of what I can only describe as a work of art. It has definitely been fired, but not very much. Merry Christmas to me!!!

That sounds like a heck of a deal. I couldn't find one in worse condition at a higher price!

You chose wisely - a lovely and classic revo. You will enjoy not just shooting it - but shere possession too.

I bought mine from Preacherman a ways back - and it is a delight. Different grips but a real treasure.

Great price - I'm jealous. But the prices in Wisconsin seem to be higher than anywhere else I've been.:banghead:
I would have thought in anti-gun MA the prices would be higher.
Great gun, made me enthusiastic about revolvers.

An LNIB model 19-3 for $300!? You really did steal it! Congrats on your find! BTW, your gun dates to 1972 according to the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson.
