Hollywood!?!?

Can't believe this hasn't appeared on THR yet. Even CNN's Headline Hews seemed shocked that Hollywood, after pretending Arab terrorism doesn't exist, finally comes out with movies showing Arab terrorists in a sympathetic light. They cite "Munich" and "Sirania" (sp?) as examples.

What could we really expect from the make-believers with the expensive "snow" decorating their nasal hairs?

Stay safe. Merry Christmas.
Bob

My consumption of Hollywood fare has dropped dramatically over the years.

It may seem silly but, if there is a movie with someone in it who has used their celebrity status to push an agenda I disagree with, I refuse to rent it.

Hardly remember what Geo Clooney looks like anymore.

Surely we do understand why there is some resentment in the Arab world.

FYI, Munich is merely a remake of the 1986 movie Sword of Gideon which is based on the 1984 true story book titled Vengeance by George Jonas.

The initial buzz I have heard about Munich is that it makes no distinction between who is a good guy and bad guy.

Moral equivilance between the actions of the Palestinians and the Jewish response.

Saw Sword of Gideon and read Vengeance. Headline News said Munich had a couple terrorist to feel sorry for IIRC. 'Course, HLN ain't exactly the world authority on bias, or are they? Sword made a point of the Mossad trying very hard to avoid collateral damage.

Stay safe.

"I want you to remember this, because this is one of the few things you could do wrong on this mission. There will be eleven names on your list. If you get only three, we'll be disappointed, but you did nothing wrong. If you get no one, of couse, the whole mission's a failure and we'll be very unhappy. But still you will have done nothing wrong. On the other hand, if you get them all but you also hurt one innocent person, you'll have done wrong. Remember this.

"Everything's a question of priorities. In this operation, this is your first priority. If he's got his girlfriend with him - you let him go. If the taxi driver's standing behind him - you let him go. I don't care if you've tailed him for months and today's your first chance. You'll get him tomorrow. If you don't, you don't. You'll get the next one. Relax."

Any low life can be shown in a sympathetic light.

Heck, mainstream media has been doing it for at least 30 years.

Enviro terrorists, animal rights activists, abortionists, IRA terrorists, criminals etc have all been shown to be misunderstood at best and at the worst heroic.

I'm not surprised. If I see any garbage like this on my TV you can be sure letters will be written to the advertisers.

I'm lucky - no tv and can't afford to go to the movies. Doesn't a movie cost $5 to $6 to see these days?

Either Spielberg has become rabbinically wise in his old age, or he has discovered his house is at ground zero.

Hk5: Thanks, it's been a long time since I've seen and read those!

Merry Christmas.
