2k5Adam December 24, 2005, 02:54 AM *cough* repost *cough* :D Do a quick search and see. From my close sources at http://www.coalcreekarmory.blogspot.com, they should be arriving in stores within the next week or so. I'll be holding one right after Christmas if I can get my hands on one. :scrutiny: Gary G23 December 24, 2005, 09:17 AM http://www.hs2000talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=28763 Geno December 24, 2005, 09:27 AM Now I know what I want to buy! Chad Ala Dan December 24, 2005, 10:09 PM Yes, I have a brand NIB Springfield XD-45 ACP recently introduced by Springfield Armory. Like I said, its NIB in pristine UNFIRED condition with documents (including a factory letter from Springfield that was sent out introducing their new product from the first production run), 2-13 round magazines, all accessory's (XD Gear Holster, Mag Loader, and Double Magazine Pouch). We were only able to obtain one at this time folks; and this is it. Sorry guys (and or gals) its not for sale at any price~! BTW, I don't really know what will be the final cost as I put it on my 90 day run'in account with my employer. talkman December 25, 2005, 02:16 AM Does anyone know if the .45 ACP XD is going to be available in 5" model? What are the benefits of the 4" versus the 5"? What situation would you want each for? wally December 25, 2005, 09:24 AM Does anyone know if the .45 ACP XD is going to be available in 5" model? What are the benefits of the 4" versus the 5"? What situation would you want each for? 5" is the "standard" barrel length the .45 ACP was designed for. Other than an ~75-150 fps velocity difference per inch of barrel length, the longer sight radius is the main practical advantage of the longer barrel. If the "balance" is better or worse with 4" vs. 5" is an individual thing, never made much difference to me. I prefer the longer barrels at the range and the shorter barrels for carry. --wally. talkman December 25, 2005, 12:59 PM So unless you plan on carrying, a 5" will tend to be more accurate? wally December 25, 2005, 03:18 PM So unless you plan on carrying, a 5" will tend to be more accurate? Potentially yes, because of the longer sight radius you can have a more precise shot to shot sight alignment leading to potentially smaller groups. OTOH, cheap ammo, inconsistent grip, and a host of other errors usually swamp the effect. Followup shots are usually a tad faster with the longer barrel because the extra mass helps reduce muzzle flip. For concealed carry the grip is generally the thing that gives you away, barrel length makes much less difference that you'd first think. But since I have to sit a lot, the shorter barrels do offer advantages for my CCW. I'd suggest you get the one that feels best in your hand. --wally JustSomeDude December 26, 2005, 09:13 AM I've only shot the 4", so no personal experience with the other versions here, but most reports I've read/heard say that all 3 lengths are quite accurate, with not a lot of difference between them, so just buy one based on what you're doing with it, and what feels good to you.
