How durable is Colt's satin nickel finish?

I'm eyeballing a nice Colt 1911 in the satin nickel finish to help flesh out my CCW battery but am leery of carrying a gun that isn't stainless due to finish wear and tear.

I've carried long enough to understand that daily carry will take a toll on the finish of any gun, but will the satin nickel be especially vulnerable?

Any insights are appreciated :)

Nickle isn't very tough, but it is fantastic at keeping corrosion at bay.

Buy it, carry it, shoot it, and when it starts looking ragged send it to Tripp for full hard chrome. Once you start carrying a hard chrome gun nothing else will suffice.
