I was out shooting my Winchester Super X2 3 1/2" hitting some clays and after about 100 rounds my gun started fouling, like I couldn’t shoot doubles because it didn’t completely cycle the bolt the empties just kind of jammed.. I cleaned it and sprayed some wd 40 in it and it was fine for about 50 more rounds then it happened again, I started shooting singles because I could shoot one at a time without a failure, but then some of the empties didn’t eject they just kind of laid in the action... this only happened once or twice but I was wondering if maybe that the extractor was the problem the whole time... I'm kind of confused about what to do here I mean after I clean it its fine but it never did this before.

Not a smith nor a X2 expert, but....

If the glitch fixes when cleaned, it just needs cleaning. My guess, is there's a buildup someplace in the innards that cleaning what you do cuts enough grunge out for it to work for a while.

Also, have you changed ammo recently? Some leaves more residue than oithers.

Oil, Mobil 1 5w-30 is a good choice and cheap, oil the bolt rails in the reciever, 3 or 4 drops each. If the gun is clean and dry when you oil it properly it should go at least 500 rounds per session before slowing up, or add a couple drops the next time out.

Thin oil and the X2 don't mix, and it won't shoot dry.

ok, i'll look into that. I wasnt using the best ammo by the way, just some cheap federal stuff.

ArMa: And I'd ditch the WD40......it's a degreaser. I use it to remove tar spatter on my truck. Good luck.
