What's everyones preference for a 10mm defense bullet? Are the 180 grainers too heavy? Will they over penetrate? How about the 155 grainers?

As for personal defense I would go with either the 180gr Gold Dot or the Gold Saber.

For outdoors in the woods then the 200gr Hornady XTP would fit the bill for 4 legged critters.

+1 on every thing Lennyjoe said except the Golden Sabres. I just don't like-em...

The 180 grain bullets won't over penetrate?

The 175gr Winchester Silvertips shoot really well in my Glock 20 and they're close to the original 10mm loading in regards to power.

Silvertips for me as well. Those are all I'll carry in my 10mm's for defensive purposes.

135gr @ 1600fps in the summer (no layers to worry about)
175gr Silvertips in the winter (extra penetration needed)

Carry 175gr silvertips as well. They are accurate, hit hard and from my point of view don't recoil excessively. have them in my witness and delta elite
