Merry Christmas 2005 To All-

Well, I t'was just wondering what my THR family received from Old St. Nick?:uhoh:

I didn't really need anything, but I received one of the first Springfield
Armory XD-45 ACP's to hit Alabama. It comes NIB, unfired with
all the GEAR and two 13 round magazines~! Can't wait too get it to
the range.

Wow , an XD 45. Congrats!!!! Please post a pic, if you can. 13rd mags, that sounds awesome.
Nothing Gun related for X-mas. But I did get a 21" LCD monitor for visits to THR!

I had ordered a Milt Sparks VM-2 for my Glock 23 from Top Gun Supply and it arrived on Christmas eve. My wife and I decided that we would make the holster "from her", along with the other non gun related things like the Family Guy seasons 1 & 2 on DVD and some new undies.

I'd be having a very merry Christmas if it weren't for this cold from hell I'm dealing with right now. I hope you all have a happy, healthy and Merry Christmas!

I bought myself some bullets and primers, and a new bore brush. A guy is sending me a holster he doesn't use for my pistol, so I guess that's a gun-related Christmas present!

I received a NIB Colt 1991A1 for Christmas.

OK, OK.....I bought it for myself after receiving the blessing of SWMBO. She won't plunk down the money for a gift gun for me for fear of getting the wrong thing.

When Nebraska gets CCW passed this year (hopa, hopa, hopa!) it will be my carry gun.

Also the first gun with a pony on it for me.

Kids got me 1st season of The Sopranos (sort of gun related)

My mom bought me a beer stein (for after shooting)

Bought myself an XD40 (although would love to have one of those XD45ACPs like ala dan)

Bought my wife diamond earrings (which allows me to keep buying guns)

With the help of a gift card (sister) and a $20 off coupon I ordered a Leupold 4X28MM handgun scope for one of my 629 Classics from Cabelas. Won't be here until late in the week so I guess I'll have a second Christmas this year. :)

I think the coolest thing I got was a CZ-52 Armorers kit to go with my two CZ-52s (http://home.mchsi.com/~davidkoch/myarms/CZ52s.JPG). It had all the parts except for only one magazine and everything is brand new (except that's it's from 1953).

Yea I know, kinda geeky. You'd have to be a Cruffler to understand. ;)

About 600 rounds of ammo (1000 rounds in various calibers, rifle and handgun, and a case, (10 bricks) of good Remington Standard Velocity Target .22 LR.

a nice GPS unit, with color display, PC interface, and lotsa downloadable mapping memory.

a leather shoulder holster that is about 50 years old and very well used, that originally went with the old High Standard Longhorn Double-Nine, dad gave me the gun about 3 years ago, and now the holster... he got the gun and holster when he turned 18, (he's now 63) and i learned handgun safety and accuracy with this gun... and i'd far rather have this old beaten up holster for this gun, than anything new...

a nice shepherd scope for my .300 H&H magnum,

various gift cards to sporting goods stores (and wal-mart) to get accessories, guns and or ammo.

I got the PC game Brothers In Arms: Earned in Blood. It's a WWII combat simulator. Got a problem, though. You have to use the middle mouse button to aim the weapons and my laptop touch pad only has left & right buttons. Guess I'll call tech support on Monday to see if there's any way to work around this.

A VERY GOOD WIFE!!!!!

The hubster got a Springfield 1911, the GI style, stainless steel with wooden grips. He's going to upgrade the sights, I think, but he was extremely surprised (I had put it on layaway several months ago and have been paying it off in little bits so it didn't raise his interest when he saw the bank statements). I am S-N-E-A-K-Y. ;)

I did get a bore snake for my .243. And I got two sets of binoculars, one small set of Bushnells from Oldest Son and one REALLY nice set of Nikon Action EX 8 X 40 binoculars from the hubster. I can watch the birds now while the deer are all carefully skirting my blind by, oh, 50 miles or so. :banghead:

Merry Christmas!!!

Got some cash from my parents that I hope to put down on a certified pre-owned P220. :D

my dad built me a rifle rack for Christmas. totally surprised me. I'll have to pick up a stud finder tomorrow, because with 5 rifles on it, this thing is *heavy*. he thoughtfully didn't drill any nail holes, since I live in such an old house that the studs probably aren't centered at 16". it'll get mounted tomorrow. now, of course, I need more milsurps, since the AK and PSL look out of place. :-P

Short list but some of the kinda' stuff I'd never get around to buying for myself: (#1) hands-free head set magnifying glasses for "funsmithing," etc., (#2) large (24" X 13") aluminum hard-case with double combination locks for my one .22rf Fiala 3-barrel set with shoulder stock that didn't have an original carrying case, and finally, (#3) small, soft, portable, 3-gun pistol stand for display or range use (instead of laying guns on a pistol rug). Love the big hard-case. Makes a nice home for the old Fiala but also handy for carrying a number of handguns, ammo, binocs, etc. to the range. BUT THE BEST PRESENT, was that our youngest daughter graduated a few days before Christmas as an Aerospace Engineer from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University here in Daytona. I hope EVERYONE'S Christmas was as good as ours!!! Have a Prosperous and Happy New Year! 45Broomhandle

You guys are something lucky, let me tell ya!

After years of silly stuff, I made out a Christmas list for my parents - just like when I was a kid.

I rec'd a box of 9mm FMJ, 45acp FMJ, and a box of .223 FMJ. The list plainly stated, "One box or MORE"

They opted for the former rather than the latter. That's my folks.

I did get an authentic Steelers t-shirt bought in Pittsburgh, though. That makes up for a lot!!

I'm suprised no one has done this yet. Its time to brag about what gun or gun related items you got for Christmas. Me? My SO doesnt do the gun thing. So it was a complete suprise to get a M3 streamlight. Hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday.:)

For myself? Nothing. However... dear old dad was treated to a Marlin 917VSF in .17HMR, Millet rings (for a Tasco EXP we had laying around NIB) four boxes of assorted brands of ammunition, (Winchester, Remington, Hornady and Federal) a shooting bench, hard case and a promised road trip for ground squirrels/prarie dogs.

Gotta get it mounted and boresighted this week, range tested soon and ready to zap varmints by mid January.

I bought my Dad the complete TV series "Combat" on DVD. I remembered it was his favorite show when I was a kid.

The better half gave me a Geiselle trigger for my Service Rifle and permission to order a 04 takedown carbine from Wild West Guns when they become available.

Oh....almost forgot, socks and underwear:rolleyes:

Regards,

Marvin

Santa brought me a new KD holster for my Seecamp...I love it, and a bottle of Hoppes #9.
My brother who visited for Chrismas brought his Glock 17 and about 600 rounds of ammo for us to use cause "He doesn't shoot much anymore".

Everyone have a safe new years :)
