A few movies, a brick of .22, a few books, some clothing.

Best part, honestly, was the people I was with. There is nothing, nothing, in the world worth more to me than knowing I've got people who will cover my back, no questions asked, no second thoughts. Hopefully the bruises will heal 'fore too long. Still a bit shaken up about the whole situation, but it's nice to know you don't have to go it alone. :)

December 26, 2005, 11:57 PM

So we barbecued. :D

This was a strange christmas. Son ill, wife across the country helping out, me working.

Santa didn't make it to my house.

But one of the cats did bring her papa a christmas present. She brought me a shrew. I don't even know how she caught the little thing. I just wish she had not missed the class in kitten school that dealt with killing your catch. So for a while I had a shrew running loose in the house.

But the story has a good ending. When I went to bed, all 3 cats had a section of the living room staked out. I knew that shrew wouldn't make it till morning. It didn't.

Santa has said he will make a special run to our place in early Jan before he heads off the Aruba for the rest of the winter.

December 27, 2005, 12:08 PM
Nothing, firearm or otherwise. Nothing to unwrap, no envelopes to open, no cards- nothing.

I had it all by my lonesome, quiet, read and finished my book. Cleaned house, ate, did some research, made notes, emailed some folks going thru some really bad times.

It was a good day!

Only items of interest was that I got a Colt Mustang Pocketlite from Missashot and I bought her some purple AR-15 stocks for the CAR-15 that she is building. These were Xmas gifts, but she got her stocks a couple of days before Xmas (plus she knew I'd ordered them), and the Mustang was found at a local store on Friday evening, and when I was going to buy it, Missashot bought it for me as an Xmas gift. I think we will shoot the Mustang at the indoor range tomorrow, and if the upper comes in today or tomorrow, we may have to test it out for a few rounds at the range, too.

You too eh? Mine's 2 and my mom still pushes me out of the way to get to my daughter when we pull into town. ;) This Christmas, we gave specific instructions to not get her any large toys. She needed clothes more than anything. Last year, we had the 4Runner packed to the gills with just enough space for the three of us. We still had to pack one of those receiver hitch platforms full as well. There's no way we could've made that trip in a car.

As for my Christmas, besides money for the kitchen remodel (all my wife and I wanted), I got a copy of Elmer Keith's Gun Notes vol 1, An illustrated encyclopedia of hunting guns, a Mouse Sander, a power inverter for the truck, and a Coleman Latern.

December 27, 2005, 01:11 PM
a $50 dollar gift card to a local shop, plus enough cash from various people to get a Mossberg 500A, and 125 rounds of 12 gauge.

The best gifts I got this year were from my 5 1/2 year old twin grandsons. They got to shop the Santa Shop at kindergarten and they bought these with their own money, and wrapped them themselves.

Yes boys, grandpa loves them, 'scuse me, I have something in my eye. :)

December 27, 2005, 09:58 PM
I got to spend a Italian Christmas dinner with my wifes family a long way away from here.:D While scrounging aroung in the basement amonst old books I found my father in laws (whom I never had the chance to meet) Combat Infantry Badge from WW2. I don't think any of the other folks realized what it was. So I took it home with the families blessings.:)

December 27, 2005, 11:18 PM
I did not recieve any gun related gifts. I did ask for a Ruger Blackhawk, but that idea was soundly rejected by multiable family members. Not a very pro-gun family. But presants are not what christmas is about anyway. At least I did not get anymore ugly ties.

I got this long range shooting simulation program (not a game) on CD-ROM: http://www.shooterready.com/lrsdemohi.html Looks cool!

I got real lucky this year. The wife let me pick out my first Christmas gift, which ended up being a nice set of Crimson Trace grips for my 642. They are on my pistol now. Sweet.

The second gift she gave me is even better. She got with my family and friends and they all chiped in to get me a Bose surround sound system for my TV. Oh man, the neighbors are gonna be pissed. :D
