I've got it saved on the Tivo at home, but the .wmv is much appreciated. This was the best episode of Mail Call ever, IMO.

What REALLY POs me, History channel buried the episode in an unfamiliar time slot, during a low TV season. I hate their "Tales of the Gun" disclaimer as well. :fire:

Who thinks the History Channel needs to hire R. Lee Ermey as President. :what:

I always thought that "disclaimer" was not so much a disclaimer as much as a note to bridge the 'ignorance gap' with any anti's that may be watching. I just view it as part of the intro. When I hear that, I know the show is about to start. :)

I was just going to post up about this. I just watched this episode this morning. Nothing like waking up to watching a show about my favorite hobby!! They have machine gun shoots up here in New England, but nothing that would compare to what they did at Knob Creek. I may have to plan a trip down there the next time they have it. I really loved the gun ship and straffing cars part. Not sure how much that would cost to do it yourself, but whatever it is it would be worth it!!!!

I just watched it today as well, it was great. It showed a lot of spray and pray though, I wonder how many people actually hit any targets. Besides the Gunny that is.

I liked the Knob Creek segment on Mail Call. My relatively pro gun wife questioned the target arrangement on the pepper poppers. I believe the small pepper poppers were meant to simulate longer range shots.
Unfortunately the target arrangement looked a lot like a family group that is; a couple of large units surrounded by several small units.
It just shows how easy it is for people to get the wrong idea about shooting sports.

My wife called me in to see it (what a great woman, huh?)

We met R. Lee a few years back when he made a Chicago PR stop and we were running a lot of air time with a couple of local radio stations. He is as great as he appears and a very bright guy.

The Gunny was truly enjoying himself at Knob Creek with every flavor of full auto there was.

I might have missed something (wouldn't be the first time), but the only problem I had with the episode at all, was that to people that didn't know better, it looked like you could walk up to a table and buy a machine gun right off the rack, so to speak.

They never mentioned the Federal stamp, background checks, waiting period, state prohibitions or the artificially high cost of Class 3 guns. I could see Brady & Co. running edited clips from the show as a scare tactic to raise funds.

I asked my wife after the show ended if she thought she could buy a machine gun at the shoot and go home with it? She said yes, it appeared that way to her.

I caught the episode on Saturday morning too. The first thing I said was "I gotta go to one of these!!" According to the Gunny, they hold a shoot every 6 months, April, and October. It looks like they had entirely TOO much fun.

I agree. Here's my $.02... I always figured they tell the truth about a firearm, like any other weapon, being an inanimate object used by characters on both sides of the line between right and wrong. The gun is not at fault and cannot be held accountable for being used wrongfully. It has been praised and reviled and used by good and bad alike. This is just a fact. That's just the way it is.
