Anybody know anything about the durability and quality of a New England Firearms 12 ga. It was stamped H & R. The price is cheap, new $188, so I was questioning its quality.

Good quality single barrel gun.
Probably one of the best made, the other two being the Russian made Spartan/Remington and the ManuFrance of which the Spartan is a direct copy of.

You might want to look around a little. If it is the break-open single shot, I've seen them in good shape for less than $100 and in "project" shape for $25.

Good reviews on the gun, but for $188 you could get a good used 870 or Mossberg 500.

It's a pump and the guy at the store told me it was a clone of an 870. All the parts did look just alike from the outside though I didn't break it down.

the pardner pump is a norinco 870 clone. as such, you can more or less assume it to be reasonably well made, roughly finished, and quite the political hot potato around here.

(i was also assuming it was a single shot at the start... a very different gun, to say the least)
