Stumbled across this rifle at Kittery Trading Post. I've always wanted a K-Hornet, and this one just made me take her home...

Anyway, it looks nice, has some pits in the bluing, but nothing serious. A tiny bit of rust on the bolt, but everything moves smoothly. Trigger pull is sssswwwweeeeeetttttt, at least by my low standards. Stock is pretty nice, has a couple nicks, but nothing to write home about.

Has some sort of peep-sight, and scope mounts (that I'm not going to use).
24 inch barrel.
It's missing the magazine, but I'll try to find one online, or just use it as a single-shot.

I picked up some .22 hornet ammo to fireform, and I'll be ordering dies soon enough.
I don't have any experience with Hornets, let alone the K-Hornet.

I'm wondering a couple of things about this rifle:
1) how old is it? Not that important I guess, but it'd be nice to know.
2) should I be using .223 or .224 bullets?
2a) how will I know? just shoot some and find out?
3) where to find load data? my lee and lyman reloading manuals have none for the wildcats.

And for what it's worth, this will probably be used just for tinkering and playing around at the range. Unless I start hunting, that is...
