Folks:

A friend has a Mauser Hsc. It has the banner, and he got it in Germany near the end of WWII. It is in 7.65mm, with serial number 93X,XXX. It does have a very small poof mark of an eagle with "N" under it on the right at the rear of the trigger guard. It has sat in cosmo in a holster since WW2, and looks to be about 70% finish. WHat is it worth? ANy cautions on firing it? Thanks.

I'm no expert, but I'd clean it up and look it over carefully. Without ammo, I'd check it for function and I'd look for anything goofy. I'd fieldstrip and get all the crud out the best I could.

If I didn't see anything disturbing, I guess I'd fire it.

.32auto isn't a barnstormer of a round but I'd take unusual care my first few shots. If you're not comfortable doing this, take it to a gunsmith for a look.

Dunno what it's worth. :)
