I love bringing new shooters into the fold, 'specially the young'uns!

This is little Beth, today was her first time.

She likes .22s and does extremely well with them.

She also really likes the SKS. Even though it's bigger than her!
Go get 'em girl! :D

She even wanted to try my XD. I guess I've created a monster... :o

The older sister Beka. She also shot the XD... and the .22s and the K-22 and....
Her favorite though was my Mark II. They are awesome teaching guns.

Some brother and sister Ruger action. Or maybe competition?

HAH! I loved that game.

Jeez, now that I've seen the picture of a girl shooting an SKS, I suddenly am rethinking the idea of getting one. :scrutiny:

Nice :)

I am eternally heartened to see youngsters and any new folks brought it. Teach them all about safety - remove the fear (if any) and see how they enjoy!

It gets tiresome the way ''the gun'' is so demonized - and we can all help in this.

Yeah, I know . . . hey wait a minute. Being younger, she most likely is smaller with shorter arms, meaning the shorter length of pull on a stock SKS would fit her better. No wonder she looks so comfy! I'll have to remember that when I start working with my nephew.

english kanigit, that first photo of Beth with the old .22 crankbolt and the one of brother sister Rugers... those remind me of my sister and me when we were kids. We learned on an old singleshot like that.

Mustanger, that .22 might look familiar because it's from my granddad's. It's another semi-permanent loaner.
It is a Winchester Model 67... hope that helps. :)

Edited for spelling...

Hey EK, I thought I recognized it.:D The one we learned on was a JC Higgins that was probably made by Savage, but the two have a resemblance.

Excellent job. Bring em to the next get-together and we'll let them try out a bigger selection. (You are planning another get-together, aren't you?)
I'll bring my 69A and a 67A to go with the Romanian. I've got a couple other new rifles to show you also.

It does my heart good to see kids firing guns. My first "Teaching" guns were a Remington 870, a single shot Iver-Johnson shotgun & a .22 rifle whose maker I've forgotten.
