i won't post the whole article. it's the usual democrats bashing bush (IMHO richly deserved) but it's all stuff we'd argued before.

However, he makes an interesting statement. It's not clear whether he's doing it because he's hyperventilating, or whether he's really had a change of heart. Anyways, he argues against all the annihilation of domestic civil liberties King George W is responsible for, and then drops this little bomb:

I used to think that extreme right wingers out West who wanted to arm themselves and undergo paramilitary training to be ready to resist tyranny in their own country were crazy. An argument now can be made that they were quite sane.

it occurs to me, that if this idea gains any traction among democrats (i'm not holding my breath) that Bush, despite his intentions to the contrary, may in fact do more for the RKBA than any president in history.

The problem is that they will only want guns in the hands of the non-elite long enough to get back into power. Then the guns go back into the hands of the elite only.

who lost his seat when the Republicans drew new district lines and broke up Frost's voting block. His district looked like an octipus on the ice at a hockey game......chris3
