You can take the boy out of the gang, but you can't take the gang out of the boy.
When I was in the Marines I met a few bangers who were there just hiding from certain death at the hands of rival gangs. This was in the early ninties. We even had a Crips/Bloods brawl in one of the nearby barracks.

I've seen some rather suspicious tattoos on the arms and necks of peace officers in the PDRK.
