I visited my local optometrist who said Oakley doesn't make M-frame lenses for prescriptions as bad as mine. Not sure how bad my eyes are but I can't read 'NEC' on my monitor until I'm about 6-8 inches in. Does this hold true for all wraparounds or is this just an Oakley thing?

Skunk, if we are talking about these types:

then I think the answer is no. Thicker glasses can't be ground in such a way that they will make the complex curvature of the frame.

I believe Wiley-X makes this style in RX lenses

If your prescription is especially strong you may have to strike a compromise.

Um...I think I found a pair I'd like.

Is 'polarized' a good thing?

In general, yes. Polarizing reduces reflected glare w/out reducing direct light transmission. It could cause a few problems w/ optics. If you have a polarizing filter on a scope or other optics, the two polarizing lenses will cancel each other out and appear opaque. Can also cause weird reflections. They are great for shooting in the desert. greatly reduces eye strain. Avoid Oakley polarized products, esp grey lenses. They havent figured it out yet and they have a weird distortion.
