The uniforms are a little different, and the weapons have changed, but it's still chock full of guys who kick butt for the USA. Thank G-d for these men. We would all be lost without them.

Ski pole. Berchtesgaden is in the Alps [darn spelling mistake]. So I'm sure there were a few in Hitler's lair to be liberated...

Yeah, once I saw the one with the guy on the right, I figured out it was a ski pole. The one being held by the guy on the left was a lot harder to identify because of the foreshortening.

The soldiers are holding OLD bamboo w/ leather basket ski poles. 85 years ago, they got the name "Rock of the Marne", my dad was there!! 50 years ago, in the Chorwon valley I was with 3d ID--- the only war they missed was Desert Storm I

Only difference is no liquor in the present day photo. We need to start knocking over some third world petty tyrants that have a decent wine collection at least so there will be something worth taking.
