I'm looking at some alternatives for my new flat top M4gery.

I don't have the $$$ for a Trijicon or Elcan but I do want something other than iron sights or a regular scope on it.

My local shop has a Red Dot manufactured by Hakko Panorama with four different reticle patterns and seems to be nicely made from aluminum. Very light and nice optics. Lifetime guarantee on the manufacture and parts. They want $175 for it but said they would deal with me on it since it has been sitting in their case since January and I do a lot of business with them.

I found one reveiw on AR-15.com but wondered if anyone has other experience with the brand? Good, bad indifferent?

One person said they thought they manufactured private label scopes for Springfield.

I don't have any experience with Hakko, other than the really cool, really small "BED-34" my FFL has in his counter (for $269!). I was going to buy one from Sableco for $207 until I ran across the Coal Creek Armoury sale of OKO's for $175... If the Hakko is half as good as the OKO, it's one sharp sight! Plus, the Hakko is aluminum, while the OKO is plastic. Unless I can find another "sale" on the OKO's, I'm going to try the Hakko on my Beretta CX4 (once I get one :) )

For $175 (plus some "work with you") I wouldn't hesitate... If you don't like it, you can get your $175 back EASY on AR15.com or Ebay... A "good price" on these is usually around $199... IF you're talking about this style...

I'd go to www.ar15.com and do a search on Hakko to see what's said. I didn't find any negative comments when I looked.

They also have the "multiple reticles", which is quite cool too. Although the Japanese Hakko site shows several options, all of the ones I've seen offer this set...

The reticle picture in my FFL's case is VERY clear... much better than the ATN sight that also offers multiple reticles.

Buy it... if you don't like it, I'll buy it from you for $175 :D
