Gonna take a different tack here...

I can't think of any guns I want or need right now (odd, I know).

Yesterday, my dad gave me a six point elk rack from a bull he shot in 1974. My brother and I helped drag it out. It was one of the mythical 1000 pound bulls you hear of, my brother and I were barely able to drag one front quarter (we were in our early 20's). The rack will fit nicely above the fireplace and I have Sandy's permission, but she insists on professional mounting. $200 or so.

$500 left.

A good friend and artist on this board sent me two prints that mean a lot to me. They need framed and one will go to another person who means a lot to me (Crystal). Probably $150.

Leaves me $350.

That will go in my boot until Tulsa. :D

Edit: Six point is COLORADO count; six on each side. :)

Just got my renewed CCW license in the mail yesterday.

I'd take the $700 and restore the interior of my 70 Cougar XR-7 since all of my gun money is going to rebuilding the engine.;)

$700? I'd just put it towards a new furnace for this spring. I haven't gone without in 2005-, new house, new furniture, new job, new shootin irons and out of debt, what a miracle. I have alot to be thankful for...;)

Wow! '70 Cougar? Is it convertible? Back in 1992 I knew a guy with one who all-of-a-sudden needed bucks--and wanted just $2500.00 for one in mint condition!

I'm hoping to head north into the remote regions of Ontario, Canada for a black bear hunt with my bow in late summer. $700 would pay most of the tab.:)

I'd like some handgun training either at the Sig academy or at the S&W academy.

$700 will likely cover most living expenses for a couple of months summer camping in the Wyoming mountains, the 30-06 will take care of camp meat, and bear duty. Planning this for the summer of '06

Taurus Tracker .357mag
Kel-tec P11
The rest would go for ammo and holsters.
Also, my CFP is up this year. Not real expensive, though.

I would buy a high quality pistol. The Sig Sauer P226 in .357 Sig looks quite interesting.

If this is with no guilt attached and my wife demanded I spend it on myself I would buy the best, of what $700 would get me, set of either Dillion or RCBS reloading equipment set up to reload 9mm, .357mag, .45acp, and 10mm. I am sure that would eat all of the $700.

I'm eyeballin' a new rifle. Maybe a CZ550FS in 30-06. But first a Savage, probably the 12 Varminter low profile in .223. Anything left over outta that $700 goes toward glass.

Nope, hardtop. I've sunk $1,000 so far in just the engine.

Rode to school every day with a buddy who had a 69 Cougar convert, white over red, 351 4 bbl with a 3(pout) speed stick. That car now is being redone and he is torn between keeping it dead original and adding a five speed or at least a top loader 4 speed. Never been hit, no cancer, just sun damage.

If i got 700 bucks dropped in my lap buy enough components to crank out a few more buckets of ammo for PD hunting.

I've got a problem with this. I have had the privilege of meeting Col. Cooper and talking with him. While I don't agree with everything he says, or has written, he is no moron.
Perhaps you would be so kind as to let us know what would cause you to espouse this opinion. :scrutiny:

Well, I just sent out an order to the CMP for a Service Grade M1 Garand (Greek-loan) in 30-06. That's about $520-ish counting the shipping. An ammo can full of 30-06 on enblocs plus range fees for one day with the balance. That would be a nice way to ring in the new year. :D
