Marlin 39a question.

Could anyone here tell me if Marlins model 39a was ever chambered in 22 mag?

To the best of my knowledge there has never been any version of the Marlin Model 39 rifle chambered in .22 Magnum.

That would be cool though. The darn thing sure is strong and heavy enough.
It probably would require a major modification of the action though to acomodate the longer cartridge.

They made the 1894M in .22 Magnum for a short time, dropping it in 1989. Would that be close enough? Worth looking for?
