MSNBC is reporting that US Sources are reporting that they "may" have killed Saddam and his sons in a bombing raid. Supposedly intelligence pinpointed a possible meeting site and targeted it, probably with bunker-busters.
Lucky break or wishful thinking? Only time will tell.

Just watching MSNBC and they report Sadaam and his two sicko sons were killed when a B-2 dropped 4 each 2,000 lb. bunker buster JDAMS on a bunker where the US had good intel of a meeting of the Iraqi high command.
FOX News reports the same.

Wasn't that the working title for a 1970s sitcom starring Redd Foxx?

Tonight......and its possibly......or as they say........may have gotten Saddam and his sons.
Apparently they had some pretty reliable sources that said they were in a certain building. Air strike was called in.......and now there is a huge hole in the ground!!!! :neener:

It happened a couple of hours ago. I saw the video live and it was one hell of a blast (shook the camera real good).
FNC is re-running the video.

Ya know, I hate the bogeyman. The unknown scary monster under your bed, or hiding in the closet, perhaps lurking in the basement, or dusty in the attic. Always ready to spook you when you are just on the verge of sleep.
For years Hitler, although dead, was a bogeyman, because Stalin hid the evidence. Today still, because of this obfuscation, some people question that Hitler wacked himself in the bunker, and invision him sipping schnapps in Paraguay. Thank God we were able to pin Togo, no question about that one.
Osama still eludes, dead or alive? who knows. And now he has become a bogeyman to ever scare our children and wives. Where is his body?
I truly hope that they can confirm this strike, because if they can't, Saddam will always be a bogeyman as well. I thought they got him the first night, now, oh yea, we got him tonight for sure. This does not help with the "bogeyman" factor. No body found, he still exists.
Sometimes, I think, the aim of our propagandists, is to make us always believe in the bogeyman. It makes the public more tractable.

FNC reports they were using a Brit supplied encrypted cell phone that was in use at the time by SH and were able to crack it and evesdrop.
Reporting that the crater is 50+ meters across and "many meters deep".
Damn! :what:

Well I for one hope they got the skunks. But I also hope they can find enough "material" for a DNA test.
Does this all mean there will be no video of the MOAB in action.
I was looking forward to seeing that thing dropped even if they only whacked a bunch of date palms.
And yes that would be a waste of tax dollars but if they are going to waste'em on social programs anyway might as well see something neat:p

Airwolf - no kidding - this war has redefined BDA !(that's Bomb Damage Analysis for all you civilian types - and yeah the Army does some of that too)
hey wasn't there some Iraqi grand poohbah who said that if the Americans attacked Iraq they would "fall into ten thousand holes"? hmm...

Schweeeet!!! Sounds pretty good, but I'll hold off opening the good stuff until it's a confirmed kill.
Fox News is saying that they were tapping his secure cell phone (something called a 'Jaguar System' he bought from the Brits a while ago). They went on to say that there were six high-ups (Saddam, 2 sons, 3 others) in the room talking about excape routes out of Baghdad, and they knew where each was standing. Very impressinve if true.
Here's hoping they got 'em all, but now the paybacks begin, next few weeks may be really wild . . . .

Drudge is reporting that the site struck was the "al Saa" restaurant block of Baghdad.
An unnamed U.S. military official said that Saddam and senior Ba'ath Party leaders were meeting with 30 intelligence officials in a facility behind or beneath the restaurant.
That restaurant is long gone now.

I was watching Arab TV and multiple huge explosions were being broadcast. The Arab commentators were saying that the Iraqi Republican Guard troops were counter-attacking and that the explosions were part of their offensive and were killing Americans. Well, they deserve what they got.
Supposedly, Saddam used a cell phone system that used frequency jumping technology that the U.S. figured out how to break. Evidently, we have been able to follow him based on where his phone was located. We came close to getting him on a number of occasions. Evidently, they could very accurately determine where he was and the B1 and four 2000 pd. bunker busters did the rest.
May the man and his sons burn eternally in hell.:fire::evil:

You mean bimbos. They need anchors that understand war and the military..not where to buy makeup. No problem with women, but the Fox women are out of place. Some of the men also..still better than CNN, or ABC.

Just checked CNN to see what the leftists were reporting and heard Aaron Brown [is he boring or what?!?] claim that there is no doubt that there were "significant civilian casualties" from the bombing.

I guess that the media is brain dead. They keep showing the (Abu Dabi [Fred Flintstone spelling]) video of the bombing. I watched it live and it was just after sunset. Fox has confirmed with the Pentagon that this is indeed the video. They then set the time of the bombing as mid-afternoon.:banghead:

I just heard the news and they said:
It will take days or maybe weeks to do forensics and find out if Saddam was killed.
They admitted that four civilain houses were vaporized as well as the restaurant. The General giving the brifing said something about how the civilians should have known better because Saddam likes to use these places to hang out. No doubt his superior will be chatting with him later about not blaming civilians we just massacred for standing under the bombs.

Malone said- "This, if true (and it will inevitably be true) is the only good thing that will come out of this war. I hope it will be worth the price."
Good to see that you've come around to see the light. It was the purpose of this war to remove him, in addition to his cronies, from power. What "price" does gloom and doom attribute to this war, hmmm? Things that "could" happen? "Might?" "Possibly?" Bah!

What irony.
What started off the WOT was, for us, the WTC in rubble.
And for this arrogant group and their dictator/leader, SH, who supported the terrorists, so it has ended.....in a pile of rubble.
I hope those in the ME that may tend to look for a hero out of this bunch or thugs will remember that Saddam, his evil sons and 30 of their closest and best supporters had some landfill in the desert as their final resting place.
A fitting honor IMHO.
