I'm looking for a new rifle that will stand up to adverse conditions. Remington's new offering looks good on paper, but I'm looking for first hand opinions.
TIA
Kev

I thought Robinson Arms made the XCR.

My opinion is that anything that needs the buzzword "extreme" to sell, isn't anything worth my time.

Has any one held, shot or even seen one of these in person? I have an opportunity to get one slightly used for a great price, but I want your valued opinions first.

I was wanting to get a 300 Winchester Mag for my next gun, and after compairing it to the 300 WSM I decided on the 300 WSM. The next step was to decide on which gun to get. Ruger, Browning, Remington, etc.
I was set on buying the Browning, and then the gun dealer took the Remington XCR off the rack, and scratched the crap out of the barrel using a house key. Looked pretty bad too. He then gave me a klenex and had me wipe the barrel. It cleaned real easy and looked new out of the box. I did not hesitate and bought the Remington XCR and am very happy with it.
