We all know never to carry six in an old-style SA revolver. The 'safety notch' is NOT safe. So load one, skip one, load four, cock... lower on the empty chamber.
But what about when you are at the range, on the firing line? When you will not even put the gun down after loading? Do you load six then?
I have to admit... under those conditions, I load six. But what's the accepted protocol here? It's no big deal to load five... I'm good either way, but wondering what the rest of you do and what is 'approved' there.
