I know that you all are about to crucify me for posting something that's probably been asked a million times, but you can't search for XD...it's too short! So I like the idea of the XD in .45 ACP, but I want it in the 5 inch model. Does anyone know if or when that will come out?
I'm also trying to decide between buying the XD .45 ACP and the Beretta 92FS...very different I know, but the XD has an integral rail and I have more trigger time on the Beretta (M9, Marine Corps). So I'm trying to decide...help?

I'd guess somewhere between 2 and 6 months for the tactical model.

But what do i know, everybody thought it would be months before the .45ACP showed up on dealers tables, but they're here already.

If i didn't just get a Sig GSR, I'd be all over a tactical .45ACP XD. I may still get one anyways.


Get the XD, you won't be unhappy.

I just got my service model Springfield XD-.45ACP, and LUV it~!:) It seems
to combine the best features of a SIG, Glock, H&K, and a 1911. I look for
the 5" Tactical model too be announced at the upcoming SHOT show~!:D

Go the XD45 ACP route! When I retired, I turned in my M-9 and never looked back!

I called Springfield....Customer Service said within 60 days, the 5 inch .45 ACP model will be out (today is 1/6).
