:banghead: I just got me a new Remington VSF in 308. I can't get it to group to save my life. Broke the barrel in using about 80 rounds, new Super Sniper scope, Burris tac rings, everthing is lock tighted in place. used factory rounds and hand loads. hand loads 165gr Hornady super shock over 42.7 gr of Varget.

If everything is tight regarding the base and rings, pull that Super Sniper scope off and try a known good scope. It wouldn't be the first time that something new was defective.

I have a Rem 700 VS in .308... The ammo makes a hell of a difference in mine... factory ammo don't group for me, I handload and tried loading rounds that were 2500fps and +.... still not good. I found out that slowing the round down to about 2400 was the magic number for my rifle and now she'll shoot the nads off of a minnow. I thought that quick round would group better, but in my case I was wrong.
I use:
175gr Sierra matchking BTHP # 2275
39.0gr Alliant Reloader 15
WLR Winchester primer
COAL 2.800

Slow her down and see if it don't help. By my Hornady book, the recipe you got is about 2575fps (roughly ) try 39.4 Varget which is at the 2400 mark (COAL 2.750 ) and rezero for change and see if your groups ain't better.
