New Guardian Report

Info for those interested. I received my new Guardian .32. Good quility in fit and finish. I took it to the range to break it in with my Sellier & Beloit ammo. It had trouble inginiting the primers, but since there was a pretty good firing pin indentation, I decided to switch ammo to Magtech JHP. No problems, after about 30 rds I had to put the shooting gloves on, since the sharp corners of the trigger guard was beginning to bite pretty hard from recoil.

Accuracy was tremendous, I could easily keep my shots on an 8x11 sheet of paper at 10 yards. The trigger pull is hard, but very smooth, no grittiness whatsoever.

After about 75 rds I decides that the Magtech were just not hot enough, I had a few failure to feeds that I think were caused by the slide not going back far enough to strip the next rnd from the mag. This may change after it gets broken in.

I wend to Car Bons next and they were great. Only had 20 rds, but perfect performance on all 20, so I need to run another box through it when I can.

A couple of strange things about the design I noticed. Since there is no ejector, it uses the rim of the next cartridge to do that job. The follower of the magazines have a hump near the rear to do that job when the mag is empty, but it doesn't always work.

Also there is no slide rail on the left side, the right side uses the take down latch as a rail. I notice with a full mag pushing up on the slide that it tilts ever so slightly to the right, but this isn't enough to cause any problems. I am just being anal, and wish they would of used slide rails like conventional auto loaders.

Over all this is a great Peice when you can't use something larger.

Hi banddr2,

I got to your second sentance and had to smile. Once I saw S&B I KNEW what would follow. I bought a .32 Guardian about 2 months ago and had the SAME problem with the S&B. I like the S&B because it is cheap and I also use S&B .380 it in my .380 Guardian. If it continues after break in call N.A.A. and ask for Carl. He will give you a UPS number so you can send it back, at no cost, and they will fix it. Also let them know if you still have feeding problems. I had the gutter snipe night sights installed on both of mine. Makes a world of difference.

S&B is notorious for hard primers. I've used it in several guns and, for the most part, it works ok. Never tried it in my Guardian .380. Hmmm, maybe I'll have to try it out.
